Who can go?
This is a great trip for first time mission-trippers! Singles, Adults, College Students, anyone!
Children aged 12-17 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Requirements:
Failure to commit to these requirements means CCV has the right to ask you not to participate in the trip.
Passport must be valid and in hand by August 1, 2021. Cannot expire before May 2022.
Complete a full CCV volunteer background screening form.
Attend CCV's Starting Point class (if you haven't already been)
Attend all pre-trip preparation meetings as TBD by trip leader.
Trip Cost: $1500
Included in this fee: Airfare from Phoenix to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, accommodations, transportation and meals while in country. This also cover medical insurance, luggage fees, Visa fee, and pre-trip materials.
Not included: Passport fees, vaccinations, and any personal spending money for meals during travel and souvenirs.
$150 deposit per person is non-refundable at the time of registration. If a cancellation is made after airline tickets have been purchased you will be responsible for the cost of the ticket.
Final Balance is due by October 23, 2021.
Will there be COVID special requirements?
Yes, likely there will be. These things are changing by the day. It's possible that you'll be required to present proof of negative COVID test before arrival at the airport. It's possible you'll need to test upon leaving DR in order to enter the USA again. We'll make sure we know the requirements and help you be successful!
Do I need to get any shots? Where can I get shots?
Please visit cdc.gov/travel for up to date vaccination requirements for your destination. Zika virus is also present in the Dominican Republic. There are lots of great travel clinics in the valley to get your shots, so you can find one close and convenient for you. Please inquire and schedule your appointment soon.
